I asked a buddy of mine to make sure I wasn't special or crazy and he said he's noticed it too. The same fixed positions hold true for hill 331, Rhezhez (sp?), and Oka River, but those don't really hold to much of any balance issues. City 17 I always spawn at the bottom where the axis gets two large buildings overlooking the right fuel for a couple of nice cozy MGs while I get a crummy single storied warehouse for my side. I'm always on the left on Lienne where, although not too bad, the other side gets a nice building overlooking the middle VP while I just get some hay.

Always spawn on the top of Ettelbruck where all it takes to hold one VP for OKW is to seal off the single entrance with reinforced barbed wire while having the luxury of two entrances on your side. But I always spawn on the top side of Rostov, where all it takes is 2 kubels to keep us on our side of the river and win the game from the get go. Now this is fine for balanced maps like Steppes where always spawning on the right side isn't a hindrance. Maybe I'm taking crazy pills but are map positions for allies and axis now fixed and not random? I noticed last week and made sure to keep tabs this week on where I start on each map and sure enough It's always on the same side.
